Golden Age Technologies is an app development studio based in St. Louis, Missouri.
We’ve been building apps since 2018 and integrating blockchain technologies since 2020.
We believe that software can create a more equitable world by distributing resources more efficiently. This means democratizing access to financial resources, making educational content easier to find, and giving marginalized groups a voice. We’re currently developing smart contracts for the Ethereum blockchain, but we plan to roll out a full suite of libertarian-minded products over the next decade.
In the meantime, feel free to check out a few of our founder’s personal projects below.
Graiscale
No colors, no problems
Humanity’s visual systems are attuned to bright colors. In the past, this helped us find food and avoid poisonous fauna, but now Big Tech can take advantage. As is the case with other “dark patterns,” the crafty use of color steals our attention and makes us stare at screens for longer than we otherwise would.
In 2018, Google released an Android feature called Wind Down. It automatically silences notifications and fades the screen to grayscale, helping users get off their phones and go to bed. Sadly, Apple never followed suit.
Graiscale fills in the gap and lets you get color under control in macOS. Available in the Mac App Store, it automatically turns grayscale on and off at specified times. You can sync it with sunset and sunrise, or customize the schedule to fit your own life. We hope you enjoy it!
Trojan Dining
Easy access to USC dining hall menus
At the University of Southern California, freshman spend a ton of time in campus dining halls. Unfortunately, the menus are difficult to find online, so students either waste time looking for them, or simply give up altogether and miss out on their favorite foods.
Trojan Dining solves this problem. Available on the App Store, it quickly retrieves dining hall menus and allows students to rate foods that they love (or hate). Soon, they’ll also be able to sign up for notifications when their favorite meals are being served.
We hope that this app allows students to spend less time worrying about what to eat, and more time actually eating with others.
